Kalathas Chania

To reach Kalathas beach, follow the signs to Chania prefecture upon reaching Stavros, another beach on Crete Islands. The airport base is also located near Kalathas beach, which is a small and sandy beach on the way and one of the most popular in Chania. It is well organized and it also offers watersports and accommodation options. The water at the beach is shallow and suitable for children to swim in. Normally, the beach is a serene region but it buzzes with activity during summer. This is because it is close to the town, from where the youth come. A tavern is open during summer for people to enjoy the night life. Kalathas beach is well-known more so because the world wide famous movie Zorbas was filmed here.
